This is my attempt at some data visualization. Info represented here is about how Mango produce becomes available in our markets across the India. Number displayed for each state are number of markets the produce is traded. Source used is : Gov. India official data for 2016.
Findings: ( some surprising to me )
- Kerala is the only state where Mango remain available pretty much across the entire year.
- Hariyana and Punjab are states where Mango being available in large number of markets.
- Maharashtra though a major producer of Mango prefers to send Mango to the “Select Markets”
- Availability of Mangos goes from West to East as the season progresses.
- Some Northern (Hariyana and Punjab) and few in South (Andhra, Telangana) still get the produce long after the core season is over.
